Molly Gavin: Instructor

Molly is one of our amazing substitute Stroller Strides instructors, and we are so lucky to have her as part of our FIT4MOM family! She brings kindness, energy, and a deep love for this community into every class she leads. As a mom herself, she knows firsthand how important it is to have a supportive village, and she pours that same encouragement into every workout. Get to know more about Molly below!

Where did you grow up? I grew up on the northwest side of Chicago in Wildwood.

Tell us about your family! I have a very loving and supportive family that includes my husband, Tim, and our two-year-old son, Charlie. We are also expecting another baby boy, who is due in May! We are excited to grow our family and watch Charlie become a big brother.

What is your current or previous career outside of FIT4MOM? Prior to having Charlie, I was a K-8th grade STEM teacher in Skokie.

What inspired you to become a FIT4MOM instructor or support team member? I truly cherish the incredible group of moms I met when I first joined FIT4MOM. Their support, along with the inspiration from the instructors at the time, encouraged me to become even more involved in the community.

What’s your favorite class to teach (or take!) and why? I love teaching Stroller Strides classes because it’s heartwarming to see the special bond between moms and their little ones. The joy on their faces—both in and out of the strollers—makes every class so rewarding!

What’s a class you haven’t taught (or taken!) yet but would love to? I would love to teach a moms-only class in the future!

What is your favorite part about being part of the FIT4MOM team? My favorite part of being on the FIT4MOM team is the incredible Village—the amazing moms and children who make this community so special.

How has FIT4MOM impacted your motherhood journey? FIT4MOM has given me the opportunity to prioritize my health and well-being while also creating meaningful connections with my child and a wonderful community of moms.

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us! I played shortstop for my high school’s girls' fast-pitch softball team, and during my senior year, we won the state championship—a moment I'll never forget!
